Nigeria Part I
Ahh I feel like it's been so long since we've talked! I literally had terrible wifi while abroad so posting on the blog was close to impossible. But, I'm back and I'm so excited to share stories with you all. So, after London I flew to Nigeria. Once I got there it was non-stop, events, meeting people, seeing family and learning so much.
I've been to Nigeria before, seeing as my family is Nigerian, but it's been 9 years since I had been last. It was such an interesting experience seeing the country with a different perspective now that I'm older. Things I may not have noticed before were very apparent to me now. I began my 2 week journey in Abuja, the capital, which is a beautiful city. It's definitely my favorite part of Nigeria. From then I traveled all throughout the east, going from city to city (literally a different hotel almost every night). From then I went to the village where my dad grew up, and then the village where my mom grew up. It was amazing seeing my grandma and learning more about my ancestors. After that I returned to Abuja to do some shopping, go to the spa and pool, and do a bit more site seeing.
Being in Nigeria allowed me to take time to look introspectively and I really soaked in what I saw and how it applied to me. In turn it gave me more ideas about the things I want to create in life, my purpose and the way in which I could make an impact one day.
A lot of more photos to come! Have a great Friday loves!
