DC FASHION WEEK
I had the great opportunity to be apart of DC fashion week as a model. It was a week full of events, shows and networking and a lot of running around. I really enjoy meeting other people in the fashion industry, it's inspiring and exciting to see other people doing what they love. I've always been into the idea of modeling but never fully embraced it. It's definitely hard work, you have to be on top of your diet, and conscious of keeping your figure. The way you walk, talk and present yourself is crucial and is all apart of your image. Which makes sense, because you are constantly on "display". A big thing I loved is that many of the fashion week designers embraced women and men of all shapes and sizes, which I think is very important to do in the fashion industry, because we are so influential to society and their outlook on body image.
I thought I would go against my normal monochromatic style and go for something a little different. I found this Kimono at a vintage store two years ago and have loved it ever since. I love tying it, tucking it, or wearing it as a full on kimono. It has so much versatility. I wanted to lean for a modern geisha vibe, while keeping it bright and sleek.
