As the season transitions into cooler weather, I find it important to take extra care of my skin and nutrition. Often times climate change can throw your body off and cause you to get a cold or cause your skin to dry-out or breakout. There are two staples I have in my diet and skincare routine that keeps me under control during transitional seasons. Smoothies and oil enriched moisturizers are key for me. 

I like drinking green smoothies enriched with protein powder, vegetables, fruit and irish moss. I know it sounds kinda crazy but it tastes so good (and no need to add sugar of any sort). Irish moss is a new ingredient I discovered that is pretty amazing. When ingested it soothes the mucous membrane of the digestive tract which acts as a mild laxative (hence, weight loss). It also contains antioxidants as well, so when it's used externally, it softens and smoothes skin. I simply let it soak in water, grind it up and add it to my smoothies for its benefits.

I keep my skin nourished with a healing oil-enriched ointment I've used for years, and I swear by it. No matter what season it is, it effectively moisturizes my skin and keeps it smooth and supple all day long. I apply it right after I get out of the shower and I'm good for the day.

And one final bonus tip: WATER! Water is the most readily available source to us, and it's one of the best substances for our bodies. Drinking water can help clear skin, control calories, energize your body and so much more. I like to have at least one big bottle of Smart Water a day to keep me on track.
